You heard it here first
In a fascinating report that's hitting the news today, Dr Adrian Owen from Cambridge University has further explained what he told our Sixth Form over two years ago: that it is possible to communicate with patients who were previously thought to have been in a so-called vegetative state. The implications of this research are wide-ranging. We are excited that such groundbreaking science is taking place just down the road from us and that we got to hear about it so early. So you want to be a lawyer?
Oliver!
Oliver was a massive success last week, partly because it was such a great piece of teamwork. The cast was huge but we shouldn't forget the backstage crew, the musicians and the many others who brought the show to life:
Of course we are particularly proud of our Sixth Form stars, two of whom can be seen in these wonderful photos below:

So you want to be a journalist or work for the BBC?
So here's the scenario: you want to be a journalist but you don't know what to study at university. The truth is that Journalism is not necessarily the best course to do (at least as a first degree). English, History, Politics ... and many other courses are worth considering. However, if you do go for a journalism course at undergraduate or as a postgraduate you should check that it is accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists. Here's where to look.
But more important is getting your foot in the door via work placements. Click here for information about getting a placement with the BBC.
